Remington 400 Legend AccuTip specifications

According to Remington’s Premier AccuTip product page, the new load uses a 195-grain AccuTip projectile at a listed muzzle velocity of 2,215 fps. The company reports a ballistic coefficient of .160, classifies the load for big-game use and packages it in 20-round boxes. Its catalog number is 27947.

Using the standard muzzle-energy calculation, the published bullet weight and velocity equal approximately 2,125 foot-pounds at the muzzle. That figure is a Gun Place calculation from Remington’s stated specifications, not an independently measured chronograph result. Actual velocity and energy vary with the firearm, barrel length, temperature and ammunition lot.

Only use this ammunition in a firearm specifically marked and chambered for 400 Legend. It is not interchangeable with 350 Legend, 450 Bushmaster, .400-caliber handgun cartridges or another straight-wall round. Similar names and appearances are not a compatibility test. Why straight-wall cartridges remain relevant

Winchester introduced the 400 Legend in 2023 as a middle option between smaller straight-wall cartridges and the 450 Bushmaster.
